ADDENDUM #1

The “Advertisement for Bid” portion of the bid documents has been revised to further define the scope of the project and to provide a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on site to discuss scope and answer any questions.
The Lake Barrington Countryside Park District is accepting bids for the following project:
23860 NORTH OLD BARRINGTON ROAD SPLASH PAD IMPROVEMENTS
The project consists of the provision of materials, labor and equipment necessary to remove an existing splash pad development and install a new splash pad and construct various site elements in accordance with the Contract Documents.
An electronic copy of the plans and specifications may be obtained from https://www.bhfxplanroom.com/projects/public beginning on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Each bid must be placed in a sealed opaque envelope with the Bidder’s name, address, telephone number and the date and time of the bid deadline and marked “23860 NORTH OLD BARRINGTON ROAD SPLASH PAD IMPROVEMENTS” and addressed to “Justin Dusek, Vice President, LBCPD Commissioner". Bids will be received until 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 23rd, 2024, at the Lake Barrington Countryside Park District, 23860 N. Old Barrington Rd, Lake Barrington IL 60010, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 23860 North Old Barrington Road to discuss the project scope and answer any questions.
The Lake Barrington Countryside Park District Board of Park Commissioners reserves the right to waive all technicalities, to accept or reject any or all bids, to accept only portions of a proposal and reject the remainder without disclosure for any reason. Failure to make such a disclosure will not result in accrual of any right, claim or cause of action by any Bidder against the Lake Barrington Countryside Park District.
Bids shall not include federal excise tax or state sales tax for materials and equipment to be incorporated in, or fully consumed in the performance of, the work. An Exemption Certificate will be furnished by the Lake Barrington Countryside Park District on request of the Bidder, for use in connection with this project only.
The work of this Project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. A prevailing wage determination has been made by the Illinois Department of Labor for public works projects in Lake County. The Contract entered into for the work will be drawn in compliance with said law and proposals should be prepared accordingly and provide for payment of all laborers, workmen, and mechanics needed to perform the work at no less than the prevailing rate of wages (or the prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work) foreach craft, type of worker, or mechanic.
All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond or bank cashier’s check payable to the Lake Barrington Countryside Park District for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check.
The Contractor selected will also be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and executive orders including but not limited to those pertaining to equal employment opportunity.
